HAROLD WALTER PERSONS ~ Bomber Dad
August 26th, 1910 ~ February 22nd, 2005

Harold Walter Persons (Bomber dad to Gary Persons ('57), Derrith Persons
Dean ('60WB) and Anne Persons ('62-RIP)) of Kennewick, WA was a Benton County resident since early 1943. He went to be with Jesus on February 22, 2005 at the age of 94. He was born August 26th, 1910 in Darfer, Minnesota to G. Burns Persons and Martha Sanderson. Two brothers and four sisters have gone on before him.
Harold married Marian Brundage in April of 1938 and they had three children. Wife Marian and daughter Anne are in heaven to greet Harold upon his arrival. Son Gary Persons (Jan) of Spokane, WA and daughter Derrith Persons Dean (Robert, RIP) of Kennewick, WA are remaining. Harold has five grandchildren: James Dean (Maschell), Michael Dean (Rachel), and John Dean (Victoria), all of Kennewick, WA; Kim Beitelspacher (Rick) and Scott Persons of Puyallup, WA area. Sixteen great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends will greatly miss Harold.
Harold and Marian moved to Hanford, WA in early 1943, where he worked for duPont, G. E. and Atlantic Richfield, as Maintenance Supervisor. The couple lived in a trailer park on arrival, then a three bedroom prefab on Totten, on to an "R" house on Horn, where their children grew up and went to school. They were life-time members of the Richland Yacht Club and later, care takers for the club.
Harold was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kennewick #153, Central United Protestant Church in Richland, Elks Lodge of Kennewick, and avid golfer for many years. Harold and Marian were "Snow Birds" in retirement, going to New Zealand, Australia and Canada--for golf, of course. Harold's grandchildren gave him a nick name of "Old Weird Harold," which he loved and had the T-shirt!
Memorial services will be held Monday, February 28th, 2005 at 11 am at Central United Protestant church, 1124 Stevens Dr., Richland, WA.
