* Zillah was arequired by the Y.V.I.A.A. to forfeit their wins over Richland and Mabton in the Class "B" District Tournament because a Zillah basketball player played independent basketball under an assumed name and was ineligible for further prep competition. Copied from the Ellensburg Daily Record February 23, 1942.
Mabton went into the District Tournament finals after Zillah was ruled out of the tournament due to the two forfeits. Mabton defeated Naches 31-26 for the Class "B" District Tournament Championship to advance to the 3rd annual Class "B" State Tournament in Cheney. Mabton was eliminated in two games losing to Dryden 14-42 and to Woodland 35-42.
